I hope that our website will give you a flavour of our happy and successful school. We are located in an attractive, modern, purpose-built accommodation, set in extensive grounds close to the village green.
We encourage all our pupils to achieve their full potential, both academically and creatively. Alongside this we offer a strong moral framework which helps them to grow as honest, caring and thoughtful people: people who are able to work and play with others, who are confident in their own abilities and who have respect for those around them. 'Their exemplary behaviour contributes well to their effective learning' (Ofsted 2011).
Our most recent Ofsted inspection, January 2011, reports that 'Teaching is consistently good with a significant proportion of outstanding practice. Lessons engage and challenge pupils of all abilities, which is made possible by varied activities and aided by considerable additional learning support. The curriculum reflects the considerable work in developing effective literacy and numeracy strategies and much good work is evident in cross curricular learning activities that integrate those strategies into the different subject areas.'
We are proud of our school's history. Our school takes its name from the founder of Whittlesford’s first school – an 18th century businessman who set up a trust to help educate the young people.
